Windows XP-finally on Intel-based Macs

March 29th, 2006

Well,

There was a contest held to see who could get Windows XP running on the new Intel-based Macs. You can download the bootloader for it here http://www.onmac.net. Although I want to move to Windows on Mac, I can’t do it until there’s something with commercial support. I could easily do it now, but I don’t have the time to mess with it if something goes wrong.

Latest Report on MacBook Pro

March 29th, 2006

Well, let’s see here. I’ve had the MacBook Pro for a month and a half now. It’s doing better than well. Although it does get hot after using it a long time, it still seems to operate quite efficiently. Some applications work well, some don’t. I guess its due to the Universal vs. Non-Universal binary differences.

Anyway, if you are thinking about buying one; I highly recommend it. They are a bit pricey, but I’m sure my total cost of ownership will be cheaper long-term. I’m also switching over slowly from a hybrid work architecture (using PCs and Macs) to using just Mac. I don’t think that will ever be 100%; but I can aspire towards that goal.
